The column aspirator consists of a suction column of rectangular section where the separation of light impurities of the fed merchandise is produced by means of a rotary doser, for which an air flow that provides a speed of 15 m/s is used.

As a complement, this equipment has a decanting chamber whose lower seal is produced by an auger.

To regulate the suction there are two valves, one of coarse adjustment to guillotine and another of fine adjustment commanded by a control cable.
